Wow ! that will put food on the table and cheer the hearts of every citizen of 'Auld Reekie' won't it ?

Real value for money here because the review by Professor Sir Geoff Palmer only cost the city council £18,500. Sir Geoff Palmer is Scotland's first black professor and his review made ten recommendations to the council to redress the city links to slavery and colonialism. This review shows, "commitment from the council to be progressive, open and honest about the history of Edinburgh."

Interesting use of the word "progressive" by city council leader Cammy Day, after all the word 'progressive' is usually used by the Far-Left to describe their Marxist and socialist politics.

The council are obviously keen to 'virtue signal' its civic 'wokeness' by accepting the review report in full, and said that, " Edinburgh will apologise to those who suffered through the city's involvement in slavery."   The council will also undertake a significant programme to address the issue of buildings, statues and street names. (Here at BM Scotland we wonder how much that will cost?)

Sir Geoff Palmer was careful to explain that the civic apology was very significant and another move towards redress.

"An apology doesn't buy bread, but it gives another form of sustenance." 

(We are sure that will go down well with the folk of Edinburgh trudging to the food banks this winter and struggling to pay heating bills.)

Not surprisingly not everyone has been pleased about this entire process. When the review report was completed in January 2022, the council claimed that it had been battered by protests, but of course these were all the work of 'racists'.  

" it had generated thousands of blatantly 'racist' responses from supporters of right-wing organisations looking to interfere with the process" and of course, " the personal targeting of (Sir) Geoff that I've seen is appalling. I've seen groups that are nothing to do with Edinburgh throwing abuse and scaremongering about a process they clearly know nothing about."

Thus the words of former city council leader Adam McVey. Strange that he accuses "groups that are nothing to do with Edinburgh", because the review report was funded by Edinburgh city council in response to demonstrations in the city by BLM - Black Lives Matter in 2020, where statues were vandalised and slogans painted on civic buildings.  So what was BLM to do with Edinburgh? After all BLM (UK) was an off-shoot of an organisation based in the USA.

British Movement Scotland believes that in the current economic climate Edinburgh city council should have far better things to spend its time, money and resources on than pandering to some BLM fantasy.

The Afghans were happy enough for the British tax-payer to fund their 'evacuation' from Kabul, and happy enough for British tax-payers to pay for their hotel accommodation and 're-settlement' but now are dictating to the Home Office where in the UK they want to live and what size of house they expect to be provided with. But not in Scotland.

A Home Office report has revealed that there are still more than 10,500 plus Afghans who were airlifted out of Afghanistan by the UK government, who are living in hotels and 'require' housing and settlement.

The same report states that Afghan refugee families are refusing offers of being 're-settled ' in Scotland for several reasons; first the Afghans say that Scotland is too cold, second is that in Scotland they don't speak English ! (what they mean is that the Afghans cannot understand English spoken with Scottish accents), and that the Afghans want to live in London or Greater London. For similar reasons many Afghans are also refusing offers to live in Wales.

The SNP government at Holyrood has bent over backwards in its offers to house refugees, not just the Afghans but also the cross Channel illegal immigrants. Unfortunately the SNP's enthusiasm is not matched by the Afghan 'evacuees' desire to move to Scotland and is seriously hampered by a lack of what the Home Office describes as "suitable housing stock". It seems that Afghan families evacuated from Kabul are on the larger size and are demanding houses with a minimum of four bedrooms. Anyone out there amongst indigenous Scots on a council waiting list?

And Now the SNP Cannae Settle a Strike by the Bin-men!

First the bin-men in Edinburgh went on strike, now the bin-men across Scotland are going on strike and the Holyrood SNP paymasters say that there is not enough cash in the kitty to make any kind of pay-rises for council bin-men.

No doubt First Minister Nicola will follow her usual tactic and go cap in hand to Westminster to beg for more UK government cash to bail out the SNP's mis-management of Scotland's budget.

How will that work when/if Scotland gets independence Nicola ?

And the Scottish economy fails again under the SNP

The latest figures show once again that there is a serious deficit in Scotland's spending.

The Scottish government deficit for 2021-2022 has just be stated as £23.7 billion and no matter how the Holyrood clique juggle the numbers, there is £8 billion not covered by Scotland's overall income.

The latest figures demonstrate that the average Scottish voter is financially better off living in the United Kingdom and would be worse off in an independent Scotland.

So how exactly would an independent Scotland balance the books Nicola?

And Guess Which Government Ministers spent £1 million on chauffeur driven cars?

Yes, nothing like a chauffeur driven car to meet the SNP promises on carbon-neutral or zero emissions. How exactly are the SNP explaining all this to their allies in the Scottish Greens?

Of course the First Minister loves to be delivered to Holyrood in a chauffeur driven car, it fills all her ego-driven sense of self-importance but then tells the Scottish public to stop driving petrol and diesel cars and to use public transport or go electric.

BM Scotland - about ten days ago this blog was temporarily taken down by Google because of a 'Complaint' that iit violated the 'community guidelines' - fortunately    BM Scotland was able to appeal the decision and BM Scotland was re-instated.

This is not the first time that some Left-wing extremist has tried to silence BM Scotland's voice. The Left cannot take the TRUTH and so look for methods of silencing our BM message, they have always liked the idea of making anonymous complaints to service providers to shut us down.

Just another indication that British Movement has to fight to make sure that its British National Socialist voice is heard.

All looks very good posing for these images that appeared in the national media - (this is one from the Daily Express) but no one at Holyrood thought to make sure that all the police stations had charger points that work and the word is that these electric cars can only do a maximum of 80 mph on full charge. So no high speed pursuits then......

SNP Genius Spend - Police Scotland - £20m of electric cars at 23 police stations but they don't work because there are no charger points. Across a total of 21 police stations there are exactly 28 chargers - what exact planning and so typical of the SNP trying to win over their Green friends but failing to do basic logistical planning.

A total lack of enough charging points and lack of planning. In fact reports are appearing of police officers 'improvising' by running portable charger cables through office windows and blowing the basic wall sockets ! 

(Hint - those three point wall sockets are no designed to take that load )

And please don't mention those two unfinished, overdue, over priced ferries still sitting on a dockyard on Clydeside. When will that contract be finished First Minister?

 Another Import That Scotland Can Do Without.

Drag Queen Story Hour (or Drag Queen Story-time) began last year in the USA and has now the concept has spread to Britain. Idea is that groups of children between the ages of 3 years of age and 10 or 11 years of age attend group sessions in public libraries or community centres, where they are read children's stories (fairy tales?) by adult men dressed in full drag. That is female clothing, high heels or stiletto shoes,  wigs, false breasts, and full 'Drag Queen' makeup.

The promotional material for these events says that the organisation is "providing fun and interactive story shows for children."

A number of these events have already been taking place across England and Wales, and there are indications that there are plans to bring 'Drag Queen Story Hour' to Scotland with suggestions that trial events will be held in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Instrumental in organising these events is a man called  Sab Samuel, who appears under the stage name of  Aida H Dee. Sab Samuel runs the organisation 'Drag Queen Story Hour UK', and is currently running a Summer tour of these events across England and Wales. Mr Samuel claims to be an autistic person who also suffers from ADHD and is a said to be homosexual and active in 'Gay Rights'.        

Some sources allege that  is also involved in 'Gay adult entertainment' including 'Gay porn'. If this is true, then he is hardly a suitable individual to be reading stories to groups of vulnerable and impressionable young children.

The message on an unknown man's exposed buttocks says " Aida Woz Here" - we leave the reader to make up their own mind as to what this means.

It goes without saying that across England there has been angry opposition to these perverse events by an array of  British Nationalists, including British Movement, by organised groups of parents and by assorted Christian and religious groups.

It should also come as no surprise to readers of this blog that the extreme political Left has turned out to protect and defend the premises where these deviant events are taking place.

It is worth noting that in the USA, where an American version of  'Drag Queen Story Hour' began, some of these events were initially staged in schools, public libraries and community centres, but then some were being held in the daytime in Gay Bars and cabaret premises.

There has been much opposition to these events by concerned parents, Christian groups and assorted anti-woke activists.

It should come as no surprise to readers of this blog to note that in the US a number of the 'Drag Queens' taking part in reading stories to groups of children have been identified as convicted    sex-offenders.

The worst elements of 'Wokism' is being infiltrated into Scotland's domestic policies and local authorities by the SNP and just as eagerly nodded through by the Greens, Liberal Democrats and the left-wing of the Labour Party.

Many times on the BM Scotland blog pages we have shone a light on the SNP drive to replace existing legislation in Scotland with new 'woke' laws and directives. This goes back years to when the SNP allowed a Pakistani immigrant elected to represent the SNP in Glasgow to take his oath in Urdu because speaking English was not his strong point. Then on to the launch of SNP LGBTQ+ at the 2019 SNP Conference; the questionnaires on gender identity and sexual experiences sent to under-16 year olds across some Scottish academies and secondary schools.  The Public Order Act (Scotland), which meant that the police could investigate 'hate' speech in private homes, including taking offence at jokes and songs.

Look at the SNP track record; 2016 - Race Equality Framework for Scotland; the Scottish Diversity and Inclusion Strategy, the Minority Ethnic Leadership and Development Programme, the Gender Recognition Act.

Hiding behind claims of equality, tolerance, diversity and a drive against 'racism', sectarianism, 'Islamaphobia', homophobia and now 'trans-phobia'. The drive of these policies is at every level from Holyrood down to regional and local authorities, with an extra push into NHS Scotland, the Scottish education system at every level from universities down to pre-schools, and of course into Police Scotland, who will enforce the new rules.

Thousands upon thousands of young men from safe middle Eastern and South Asian nations along with North African and sub-Sharan African nations, flow yearly in to Britain, as so called asylum seekers. All have to be housed, healthcare, education and a Billion Pounds a year to keep them. Is this really what the people of Britain want? No, the majority do not. Each of these economic migrants ,from Pakistan, Iraq, Syria, Kosovo, Albania, Iran, North Africa and all the other mainly safe nations that they come from, will one day hope for a wife and thus children and even more strain on our health service, education service and housing to name a few. I suggest Britain purchases a medium range sea liner and two rescue boats. All under the Rwandan Flag. Instead of the RNLI being a taxi service. The two rescue boats under the Rwandan Flag, picks these mainly Third World economic migrants up and take them to the medium cruise liner. After a few weeks let it sail to Africa and then the economic migrants transported to Rwanda once landed in Africa. All done under the Rwandan flag and thus, the so called Third World economic migrants, would not land in Britain and we would not be legally bound to allow them to claim asylum in our homeland.

**** Remember that the SNP is keen to import refugees and asylum-seekers into Scotland.

Nicola Sturgeon and her cohorts are totally opposed to the Rwanda plan in whatever form it takes. The SNP sees all such migrants as grateful future SNP voters.

REMEMBER GLASGOW LAST YEAR WHEN ANTI-RACIST 'ACTIVISTS' FORCED OFFICERS FROM BORDER FORCE AND POLICE SCOTLAND TO RELEASE TWO ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS THEY HAD JUST ARRESTED TO BE DEPORTED.
