Nicola Sturgeon Resigns As First Minister of Scotland and leader of the SNP - But who or what will replace her?

Before everyone starts cheering - why is Sturgeon leaving now?
Who or what will replace her?

Why has Nicola Sturgeon resigned as First Minister of Scotland and leader of the SNP?

Could it be because of the chaos created by the Gender Recognition reforms?
Or the shambolic response around the 'Isla Bryson' - trans woman rapist fiasco ?
Or the blocking of Indy Ref Two?
Or the ferry contracts shambles?
Or the £600,000 of 'missing' funds in the SNP coffers?
Or Police Scotland investigating her husband's finances (especially that £107,000 loan) ?

Or is it just that she has exhausted all her political and personal energies?

Answers on a postcard please and send to Bute House, Edinburgh. <just kidding>.

And Who Will Succeed Her at the helm of the SNP and at the First Minister's rostrum at Holyrood?

At the time of writing a number of contestants have announced their interest in becoming the new First Minister and leader of the SNP.

Below BM Scotland takes a brief look at two very different and contrasting options.

Kate Forbes, the MSP for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch

Politically Kate Forbes has not shone brightly when it comes to directing Scottish finances and the economy. She is not exactly the most competent SNP MSP currently at Holyrood.
Unfortunately  Kate Forbes is an active member of the Free Church of Scotland and holds traditional views on subjects like family values, marriage and homosexuality.
A number of mainstream media commentators are already stating that Forbes has religious views which are unacceptable to the "socially-liberal" (that is the 'Woke') section of SNP membership and are also a problem for many of the Scottish Greens. Basically it is the fact that Kate Forbes is a practising Christian that is a problem for the 'Woke' and the Marxists. So her becoming SNP leader is unlikely.

or

Humza Yousaf

First Asian and Muslim MSP and first such an individual to hold a ministerial post at Holyrood

As SNP minister for health Yousaf has hardly excelled at the post and as most folk know the state of NHS Scotland is a shambles under his control.

Even his fellow Asian MSP, the Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar is scathing about the role
that Humza Yousaf has played at Holyrood.
And could the SNP truly claim to represent Scotland or be even vaguely nationalist if it was being led by a second generation Pakistani immigrant?

Of course Humza Yousaf wants to see lots of Channel crossing migrants settled in Scotland.
