SNP Caught Out
Derek Mackay -MSP
Once touted as a future leader of the SNP and a high flyer at Holyrood, until late Thursday February 6th Mackay was the Scottish government finance secretary. He remains an MSP for now. According to mainstream media sources, between August 2019 and the end of January 2020, Derek Mackay sent more than 270 text messages to a 16 year old schoolboy, which according to MSP's from other parties was little more than grooming the boy for 'adult' purposes.
Yet, SNP leader and First Minister Nicola Sturgeon took 18 hours of decision making before she suspended Derek Mackay from political office.
The SNP still awaits the fall out from the court trial of former SNP leader Alex Salmond on sexual offence charges which is due to begin in March.
Scottish voters should judge the SNP on the character and calibre of its leading figures.
How is that working out?
