BM Scotland asks - Will the General Election Shatter the SNP? Plus other news on Scottish politics.

Will the General Election Shatter the SNP?

The General Election for the UK has been called for July 4th 2024 and this is the opportunity at least to clear out the SNP from the House of Commons.

Most political pundits agree that the forecasts do not look good for the SNP based on its serious failings in regard to NHS Scotland, the ferry scandal, the state of Scottish education, drug deaths, and the state of Scotland's economy.

Plus the shambolic SNP governance : - the failings of each SNP First minister; Alex Salmond, Nicola Sturgeon, Humza Yousaf.  And we don't want to see them replaced by Anas Sarwar and Scottish Labour.

Don't Forget That Police Scotland are still pursuing 'Operation Broadform' in regard to financial 'irregularities' in the SNP funds and have pushed ahead this week with papers to the Procurator Fiscal and related agencies in regard to the potential prosecution of at least one former senior SNP official.

When it comes to the election remember and remind Scottish voters that the SNP also means dodgy headlines about gender identity, male rapists in women's prisons, police searches and arrests of SNP officials, and purchases of luxury motorhomes from SNP campaign funds.

Dodgy population statistics for Scotland.

Can the figures for the 2022 Scottish census be trusted?

The population report of the 2022 census for Scotland has recently been published.

Part of the report states that the population of Scotland is now more 'ethnically diverse' than it has ever been, claiming that 13% of the Scottish population are now from a "minority ethnic background". This is broken down in part as 1.3 % Pakistani, 1.0 % Indian, 1.0% African but undermines this by stating it includes 1% Irish !   Why have the census technocrats classed the White Irish as an 'ethnic minority' in a majority White Scotland?

Thankfully unlike parts of England and parts of Wales, the population of Scotland remains overwhelmingly White European. Although the figures do show a worrying upward trend for the settlement of non-whites in Scotland.

Scotland must not fall into the trap of the Great Replacement.

The Horizon Post Office Scandal

Scottish victims of persecution, malicious prosecution and false accusations of dishonesty are being left in the lurch. The Scottish government is letting Scottish sub-post office victims of the Horizon scandal down.

England and Wales are now covered by the new legislation the Post Office (Horizon system) offences bill, which has been pushed through into law before parliament switches to campaigning for the General Election.

While victims in England and Wales are going to benefit from having convictions quashed and financial compensation awarded, those in Scotland must wait for a Scottish version of the bill to be passed and anyone who failed to get their convictions over-turned at the court of appeal will not be covered and will lose out on everything.

The new legislation for England and Wales covers all Horizon linked prosecutions by the Post Office and the Crown Prosecution Service between September 1996 and 31st December 2018.

Scottish law needs to catch up fast - What is Holyrood playing at?
