BM SCOTLAND: Into the Winter and the Pressure on Our Folk keeps Growing.

Time for Serious Political Change!

GLASGOW - Schools where one in three children don't speak English as a first language.

This is rapid changing population pressures.

At least some of the mainstream media and a few Scottish politicians are taking this situation seriously.  The problem has been created by Labour Party asylum regulations and the SNP Holyrood government attitude towards homeless 'asylum-seekers'.

Notice how the media refers to Glasgow as "Britain's asylum capital".

Below are some extracts from news reports that are actually truthful about the situation.

"One in three schoolchildren in Britain's asylum capital of Glasgow don't speak English as their first language, figures show amid fears city can't cope with more arrivals."

"Around one in three schoolchildren in Britain's 'asylum capital' do not speak English as their first language, data has shown."

"Scottish Government figures show 28.8 per cent of students in Glasgow speak English as an additional language (EAL).

It is the highest figure than anywhere else in the country, which led one Scottish politician to describe the figure as 'staggering'.

Of the 71,957 students in schools in Glasgow, 20,717 are EAL learners, according to the figures from last September. That is a rise of a third since 2019 (22.5 per cent).

Glasgow was recently branded the 'asylum capital' of the UK after figures showed it housed the highest proportion of asylum seekers of any local authority - 65 per 10,000 residents, totalling 4,023.

It has also begun attracting homeless refugees from other UK cities including Belfast, Birmingham, and London.

'This scale of demand has serious consequences for educational standards, for social cohesion and for the long-term health of our society and economy.'

City Council leader Susan Aitken in September said the pressure could become unbearable due to Labour's decision to cut the amount of time migrants granted asylum can stay in official accommodation - including hotels - from 56 days to 28.

She believes this could prompt large numbers of refugees to head to Scotland due to its policy of guaranteeing everyone a legal right to housing. English councils are required only to house those in 'priority need', such as parents with children.

The local authority has previously warned of a £110million shortfall in the money required for homelessness services over the next two years - prompting the Scottish Tories to insist the budget crisis is of the SNP's own making.

A spokesman for Glasgow council said: 'Glasgow thrives as a city enriched by many different languages and cultures, and we proudly celebrate this diversity and the positive impact it brings to all our school communities.'

Council chiefs and homeless charities have demanded more support from the government to avoid Scotland's housing emergency being made even worse by an influx of refugees."

And another report....

"Opposition politicians say the rapid increase in the numbers of children not speaking English at home is a “failure of integration” and poses a risk to social cohesion. But this is part of a much wider problem for the city, which is rapidly tiring of being the asylum capital of Britain.

The need to hire specialist teachers for 21,000 EAL children will add to the city’s deepening financial crisis. Already in £1.6 billion of debt, Glasgow says it is facing a £66 million “black hole” next year through having to house a disproportionate number of asylum seekers in a city which has a chronic shortage of social housing.

Glasgow has the largest asylum seeker numbers of any UK council — approximately 3,800 — largely because of its justified reputation for being welcoming to migrants in the past. But this is rapidly altering the character of the Dear Green Place. The perception is growing that those in charge care more about migrants than about Glaswegians."

Of course what is shown in the media reports is that some Scottish politicians like the idea of multiculturalism. 'diversity' and an imported immigrant population.

Check out this ideologically motivated from Glasgow City Council;

"A spokesman for Glasgow council said: 'Glasgow thrives as a city enriched by many different languages and cultures, and we proudly celebrate this diversity and the positive impact it brings to all our school communities.'

No mention however as to what native Glaswegian Scots might think about that.

And it is not just Glasgow because recent statistics show that Edinburgh and Aberdeen are catching up on Glasgow in terms of settling 'asylum seekers' and for children who do not have English as a first language and need specialist language teachers and interpreters.

SCOTLAND DOES NOT NEED IMPORTED 'DIVERSITY'
